I am rearranging, YET AGAIN, to pen some breeders that some folks want hatching eggs and chicks from this fall. WHAT A JOB it is, moving around so many chickens. I am building ONE more temporary ghetto coop, too. (Well "I" am not doing it myself. I am just supervising.)
The processing pen is overflowing and they are not yet ready to butcher, but they are outgrowing their pen. Alot of my "grow outs," are done growing out and are at point of lay, too.
Kola is enjoying her reign as Princess for a week in the ENTIRE garage. I am not letting her get her feet and bandages all muddy and poopy. Her new shoes don't seem to slow her down any.
I thought I got rid of the boys (Icelandic chicks), but alas, today I see even more red combs emerging in that pen.
For cryin' out loud, how many boys could I possibly hatch out of that bunch? On a good note, Gypsy is now staying in her pen........ well, momentarily anyway.
Gotta get some pictures...........
Good luck to all of you on your building projects and hatchings!
