Icelandic Chickens

Emus are sure tempting but they will come, if, after the Iowa Blues and the Delawares and.......

Anyone who trys to come up with a standard for Icelandics whack them

because they obviously dont have a clue as to what we have got.

The nearest that we could come to a standard would be something I just dont/cant envision. I intend to try to select for survival traits, but I am a 1,000 years behind on that one, so the one wide open path is to maintain as much diversity as I can, anything else is gilding the lily.

Ack! I took a pair of my Midget White turkeys to the Fair here in August (when it was dry) along with alot of other birds.
And the Turkeys won, BB, BV, Champion & resrve champion, and then took grand champion.
I was blown away!!!!!
There is alot of people trying to talk me into showing them upcoming Winter Brisk.........in Chehalis (skipping Skamania show in Stevenson) But seriously, every try to bathe a 20 pound WHITE turkey???????
They are very nice birds, friendly and talkative, and just found out they hate the Icelandics, chase them down, don't know why?

No, I think I may refraine from giving a big white turkey a bath..............

Oh BTW~~ The Icelandics DO look better every day!

The closest I have come to it is getting ready to plucking a couple, that was the bath before then. Actually used to try and do a half dozen at a time.

Bathing live ones would really deter me from showing .

Congratulations on the win. Nice display.

Chickielady - I never realized what a beautiful face a turkey could have. The only turkeys I have ever met were on a serving platter. If I had to look yours in the eye, I'd be eating canned tuna for Thanksgiving.Congrats on the wins.
