POOR BABY!

I almost stopped watching her stumble around, just to post "poor baby".

I feel for you, Mary. I think my Dozer broodied herself to death too. A few weeks ago I gave in and gave one of my cochins a bunch of EEs to raise since she was making herself sick.

It was the saddest sight. Blood oozing from around her eyes, wattles and from one earlobe. That tissue must have been a mess. When I zoom in on the video her eyes are not even visible. Horrible. I just went out and checked on her. She is snuggled down tight on her eggs. Her head is tucked under a wing and she is sound asleep. I watched her breathing and the rate is good and she is not labored. Hopefully she will still be fine tomorrow.

How long is she raising out chicks until she gets broody again? My OEGB just started laying again, and her last batch hatched on Aug 6th. When I gave her the chicks, she couldn't stand up for all the sitting she'd been doing. She actually looked grateful when I gave her the chicks. Now she's healthy and spry and tired of chicks.
