Icelandic Chickens

Your little Icelandic chicks are really coming along. What are you using for a heat source?
just a 125 watt bulb.... I've done this batch different from my others and don't know if it is the stuff i'm doing differently that is better for them or if its is just the breed.

Will know with the bantam rocks that just hatched this week. I'm giving them sand/dirt/mulch from my compost pile to dig through in there cage. Also giving them lots of green (alfalfa buds) they love it.

they are already doing ariel chest bumps....i guess chest bumping on the ground wasn't fun enough

Nice group Brad!! They do feather quickly. I only saw five individuals in the photos but six in the group shot. Who'd you miss?

Mike, I second Breiv!!

there are two that are almost identical in appearance/markings, with one just being a shade darker than the other so i might have skipped posting it.

but it might be this one.

Thanks Brad for posting those! Next time you take pictures, make sure you get some straight on face shots so Kelly can tell you how many cockerels you have!
