Congratulations! I hope you are able to show us some pics soon!

Well my chicks came in this morning and it appears that everyone will survive. My first time with Icee chicks, and it would seem they come with an attitude. I am more than good with this and can not wait to see and spend time with them tomorrow. A good mix of chipmunk, yellow, black, blue, and a white/black mix. We are of course happy with them and look forward to enjoying them greatly.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

Congratulations on the chicks. They look really good. That one sitting on the feeder looks like a tough little bird. Don't mess with her!

Having more than enough Viking in me, we are relishing the family chicken. The Longhouse awaits their graduation from Ice House brooder school.

Thanks for this thread,

RJ

Edit: Thank you arconfederat for the well wishes. We here are wishing you well with yours.

Too cute, RJ!!

I was on the phone with my daughter this afternoon and was looking out the window. An unsuspecting squirrel came down a tree not far from Jóka's chicks. She turned, puffed out her feathers, dropped her wings and chased that squirrel right back up its tree.....better keep an eye out for those Icelandic mommas!!

@arconfederate How many chicks did you end up with?

My broody Gula, that was sitting on my friend's Orp and JavaxAmeraucana eggs, had four chicks at dark tonight. One last JxA egg was pipped. The last Icelandic egg was a quitter. Must have been right after I candled last time.
