Icelandic Chickens

Beautiful! They are fascinating because they look so different. I am so staying with this thread to see how they change as they grow.

ETA: how many days until the next one is ready to hatch?

Okay, here is some Icelandic cuteness for this morning. Had to make booties for the one that hatched yesterday. Toes were curled around and under. I think it is due to low temps during incubation and being in the shell three extra days. Brinsea's response? You should send it in for service, oh, and by the way, we aren't honoring your warranty because you didn't mail in the registration card. WHAT? I have already had warranty work done? Tough luck, no card no warranty! So I contacted a local consumer advocate group to go to work on it for me. If you sell a product in CA it is illegal to withhold the warranty if the card isn't returned. I am getting less and less enamored with Brinsea every day. In fact I am getting downright angry.

ok... so here is your stupid question for the day

If they are both Icelandics, why are they different colors? Do they have a variety of colors they come in? Or can you tell hen from roo by coloring? Sorry for the ignorance, but I am really interested in this thread and these chicks!!
