Icelandic Chickens

Ahem Ms Kathy. This is your therapist. This does not sound like downsizing!

Dang, I can't have any secrets!

Downsizing now, so I can upsize later!

Don't make me stalk, I mean follow, you all over this place. Cause I will!

Also, let me just note......considering I have breeding project plans for next year......obviously I am downsizing to then upsize next year. That's how it works dear....if you don't downsize between your upsizings.....that makes you a hoarder LOL.

Geez, Kathy signs on for breed preservation and right out of the egg she crosses them with Delawares! This is a travesty! I just hope Sigrid and Johanna aren't following this.

I am gonna figure it out...... any minute now, any minute....

The guy came and picked up 4 Icelandics, and will return later this week or next for a few more. I was impressed with him, and believe he will be an asset to the preservation.

Either that or he conned me good.

Ok I just spent most of my afternoon (at work

) reading this entire thread from beginning to end. Really interesting stuff! You are all doing a great job!

Warden I think the free ranging thing is awesome. I love your set up and the barn in the middle of the grassy field, it is just beautiful and I can't wait to see it with the icelandics running around. I have an acre pasture (could be a pasture if it had actual grass in it

) that has my horse and mini donkey in it. I have been trying to convince DH that we need to put a better chicken type fence around it so that we can just open the chicken barn door and let em go. Trust me I am stubborn as heck and it will more than likely be done this summer with or without help ( I am known to get up at the crack of dawn and just go do big projects all by myself because I don't like to wait for others) . I then want to replant grass and bushes. Maybe some day my little piece of land will be as pretty as yours. The stories of the chickens are just great I really enjoyed reading it today.

That is really sweet but I am going to feel pretty guilty if you get fired right before Christmas! Hubby worked this afternoon down in the barn and came up and just announced that the coop side is ready to go! We just need to put up some roosts and finish the fencing. I am getting excited and scared.

Good luck with your project. Your attitude about getting things done reminds me of me! Well, more so when I was younger and in better health.

No worries, I am self-employed so the only way I can get fired is if I fire myself.

I run a daycare out of my home and had only 2 wee ones today. So while they played at my feet or had naptime, I read.

Moving right along here, thank you very much .... I just got another phone call from yet another party interested in the preservation of our beloved Vikings!

We're doing it, Mary! We're getting the word out there!
