Icelandic Chickens

Kathy, how do you get them to stand so still to have their pictures taken? I tried to get a picture of my barnevelder to post and it took me forever and then I didn't get a good picture. So what is your secret? they look like they are modeling for you

They did NOT like standing on that wicker at all. They acted like they couldn't move, and kept squatting down. I couldn't get them to stand up.

Hi Kathy

They look great, the last one looks like its wearing a tux !

What are you using for an incubator, or are you using two?

I have the Hovabator but dont like to open it after the 18th, when I turn the turner off too.

I do like the light ones but they all are fascinating, some great blue laced ones I have seen amongst them and blues, but the Lukka look alikes are my favorites.

Has anyone heard how Mary is making out through her storm?? Miss her posts, wonder too how the kids(4 legged) are doing.

These 2 week old are like no other chicks I've ever had - granted I only get to see them once a day with all that's going on in our lives. They have the energy and spirit of looney tune birds! very very fun to watch next to more subdued silver pencil rocks, welsummers & splash marans!

Here they are..

I've been wanting Icelandics for quite some time and have just ordered eggs from Lyle Behl in Ill. I have been talking to him for some time about his Auburn Javas and have been wanting them for a few years so here they come.

Icelandics have impressed me from the time this thread has started. Mike
