It's been a busy day here, we had a perimeter breach that resulted in an emergency repair of the dog yard. It's a real pain in the neck trying to secure gate posts at 7*F. The ground is frozen so hard we won't be able to fix it right until after mid April when the ice goes out of the ground. Oh well.

We started the day with a wonderful breakfast, eggs over easy and chocolate chip pancakes. Here's the view from the dining room.

Then we were off to the garage to make some real progress on our new brooder. ignore all the extra crap in the garage, we are still moving in and haven't got it all put away yet. We built it without legs because it will be bolted to the wall in the new coop later this summer.

This is our "Warden" and she approves

These rowdy teenagers are cochin crosses I hatched for the Superbowl/Housewarming/Engagement party we had last month. Man are they glad to be out of the baby brooder.

Of course, they will be much happier tomorrow when I get their other bedroom done. Separating the boys from the girls will give everyone a little more space.

On an Icelandic note... I pulled two eggs from the bator, they quit, so I have 21 left in there. Most look vibrant and really active (yes I candle a lot, there is no 12-step program for it, I've had to learn to live with the addiction) anywho, I have one that looks like it might be quitting... but the rest still look really good

I think I have 8 or 9 days to go.

Now that the baby brooder is all emptied out I can get it scrubbed up and ready for the viking hordes

Well, today is Jokull's big day. All of the other free-ranger roos are going to another home since Jokull refuses to allow any of them to play in his sandbox. Stinker.

So tomorrow should be fun when he discovers that he has to incorporate the 2 smaller groups of hens into his main group. That boy is gonna be busy! Mua haa haaa.

And 8 more eggs went in the bator last night courtesy of NotAFarm! Woot!

Hi Michelle

Your cat is a darker twin of one of mine, and I do like the brooder, going to be building a couple like it in several weeks,

We had 8" of snow here yesterday, south of here at Lansing MI where we went for the rabbit show it was raining. Sun shinning here now, at 18 degrees. Spring is more then 3 weeks away here.

I should update my sig line, I had one not develop and one quit so 2 turkeys left in the bator. With luck, they should all be pipping and zipping about the same time.

Now I'm off to do a little more demolition at the old house so we can get the egress windows installed and get it sold. You kids have fun today.

) And those baby goats are just so darn adorable!! I want to come love on them!

AK Michelle.......Gorgeous pics! And who can blame you for being a candling addict, when those white eggs are so easy to see into!

Congrats on being connected Kelly, now maybe you can "really" be a moderator.

We are running around trying to find a home to live in during the disaster repairs and picking out hardwood floors etc...argh
