So good to see you on

! Thanks for spreading the Icie's in your neck of the woods! I found a lady just an hour from my house that has the Icelandics dogs! She is very nice and I am going to a show where I can meet her and see her dogs all spiffed up. I was surprised at the price 1200.00 to 1400.00 each??? I have been in the "dog world" all of my life and raised and shown Scottish Terriers the last 31 years and we do have waiting lists for our dogs, but the dogs that demand these prices have decades sometimes more than a century of intense professional breeding, showing etc. I didn't expect such a new breed would command such prices.
At that price I couldn't afford one, but I figure if you wait and see and have an interest sometimes things come together and the good Lord sends something extra special your way so why not check them out right!

Once again its really good to see you on! Have a great day!

Well, there's a long history of intensive breeding of Icelandic Sheepdogs in Iceland. There's a very active breeding community, and they weren't exported for a long time.

You can find them cheaper, too, if you don't want a registered dog for breeding. My male isn't registered, so my pups are about half that price. But on my female's next heat, I'm breeding her to a registered male, and I already have a waiting list far longer than I'll be able to supply. They make absolutely fantastic farm dogs. I couldn't run this place without them.

Gratuitous puppy and chickie photo: (both of these chicks turned out to be crested females, for the record)

That's a great idea! I will add it to the site today.

I am so glad you like the site - working on getting a logo done so we can have t-shirts and such

Enjoy the site and feel free to post suggestions here or PM me.

For those who have asked, the Icelandic Chickens USA website has been disabled and will have hubby take it down completely. Good luck with the new venture. Could I just ask that my name be spelled correctly if it's being used? It's O'Brien.

Thanks

Dhia Dhuit Mary O'Brian !

I am sorry your website is coming down, when I was looking at it I was thinking that we needed more like it, not fewer !

Thank you for the work that you have done with it,

Hey Bob! Thanks for the hug. Have you candled the eggs yet? Oh wait, do you have them under broodies? I am too old to remember who told me what! I am shipping to your crazy neighbor Mahonri on Wednesday for the Easter hatch. I am curious to know how many were fertile in your batch to know how many chicks he is going to have to hide from his wife!

He won't just be hiding chicks from me either!
