Mary, in the picture of your 5 week olds... I love the fancy "do" on the 4th from the right.
The hatch of eggs from Mary is now 18 days old, and because I'm getting more chicks tomorrow I moved them to the big-kids brooder out in the garage. They are feathering out with some interesting colors and patterns. Hopefully I can find a few minutes to snap a few photos of their scraggly selves. Still just the 3 mohawks, but some could be late bloomers
The eggs from Kathy are still perking right along, developing nicely.
I kept 4 EE's from my housewarming hatch and yesterday one of them crowed
I didn't hear it, Tom did, so hopefully he was mistaken or it was a hen with an identity crisis. If so I can get her some therapy, I am only keeping pretty hens that lay colored eggs and Icelandic roos so here's hoping there was a mixup
I have a 360 mile round trip tomorrow, we're driving down to see Tori (aka Mrs AK-Bird-Brain) to deliver some chicks, pick up a variety of birds and tour her coops. Tom's on the hunt for ideas before we start designing my newer, bigger coop
Good Night
