Icelandic Chickens

I so LOVE your positive attitude and I SO PRAY you are correct. Still have 50 eggs in there that haven't even pipped yet.

Be patient! It isn't time for them yet. The Icelandics always like to be first at every party, ya know.

First candling last night, about five eggs the light wasnt strong enough, including a couple of the pullet eggs, REALLY thick shells. At least five show veining already, no obvious clears yet, both eggs that had tiny hairline cracks seem good so far. Will get a stronger light.

Keep those pics and videos coming !

Very nice looking rooster! I really like his crow. Heading out to get some chick pics...

He's gorgeous! I love the nice clean run. I can't wait to get my coop moved back into the pasture. The snow is melting but we have to wait for the ice to go out of the ground, the water to soak in and the ground to firm up before we can start moving the building. Right now the weight of the trucks would ruin the lawn. I'm guessing we'll need about 2 weeks.

to embed a youtube video type Of course substitute the actual link to the video for the word link.

He is very nice too
I have a buff orp hen who is being mean to the teenagers, so I decided to put her in with him.
He starts dancing for her right away - flaping and sidesteping toward her

Very polite to a hen he has never seen before.

The little hen Nalla is taking a bit longer to settle in so pics of her tomorrow

It never freezes here in Central TX - I can't imagine all the extra work that would be involved with snow/melt
