We have had the most awesome beautiful spring I ever remember here in Phoenix.

All of the little Easter chicks are doing great with the exception of one of the Barred Rocks. It's half the size of the other two... I see it eating and drinking but it just doesn't move fast. Gave it a little sugar water to see if that would help... we'll see.

I've named the giant white Icelandic, "Goliath" I can't wait to see what he looks like feathered out.. and boy can he JUMP!
These birds are amazing.

No, as a matter of fact this farm is owned by a lawyer, THE very same lawyer that fought the natives claim to any and all reindeer in the state, and won.

Reindeer are just domesticated caribou, which migrate thousands of miles each season. They get their speed from tendons that snap as the leg moves. This tendon makes a ticking noise as they walk. Listening to several of them moving at once sounds almost musical, like a rain stick that has all the little beads or seeds that trickle through the inside simulating the sound of rain drops.

They are smart and very docile, even the babies know basic hand signals at a few weeks of age. The elk on the farm are raised the same way but they are not tame enough to walk among, I have let my kids (ds was 6) walk among the 60 - 100 reindeer that make up this herd with no worries at all. they don't bite or kick and the nerves in their hornes are so sensative they don'e want to have them touched which means they are very careful to not touch a person with them either.

I know this farm exports to other farms in the lower 48 just in case Ryan has room in the yard for a reindeer or two...

Great pictures everyone! Just got back from securing my brooder from the rat, hopefully! I reattached the hardware cloth and plastered the outside of the opening with duct tape, Michael cemented the drain channels and I shoved wire under the door. Don't really know what else I can do.

Laree, the eggs you didn't want are shipping tomorrow. You're welcome.

My Brinsea autoturner stopped working today so I guess I need to order another one. I just got a second one two weeks ago but my original one died today. So I am hand turning until a replacement arrives. I am liking Brinsea less and less. I could have had a cabinet incubator before all I have spent on Brinsea!
