for a safe delivery and healthy baby.

Wow Shawn! Congrats and good luck. Take the camera!

I am on a quick break from injured emu watch. The little guy freaks out if I leave his side for a minute. I am afraid he will injure himself more struggling to get up and follow me. I slept on the couch last night with him in a cage beside me. We were up all night. Oops gotta go, he's freaking.

Mary, I hope the "not so little" guy is okay.

Kathy, What beautiful chicks! Glad to hear you're safe.

Shawn, You, your wife and daughter continue to be in my prayers.

to everyone else!!

We've had a busy couple of weeks and I still haven't managed to get pics of the "week before" and Easter Hatchalong juvies. I did get them moved from the garage brooder into a coop in the barn. They haven't had alot of handling so are quite the wild bunch. I can get about half of the bravest ones to eat meal worms or canned corn from my hand. I'll keep working with them and try and get some pics soon. The teens have been "released" by Chickie Mama and she is back with Audun and the other hens. The teens have a coop to themselves and spend all day outside keeping busy with foraging and the boys are sparing now and one has been trying to crow for a week now!! They're only eight weeks old! It looks like I have four girls and six boys among the teens. Anna's chicks will be three weeks old tomorrow and are really getting around although she keeps a close watch on them and the teens aren't about to get too close. My broody SLW that is due this week only has six eggs left. I haven't tried to move Asta from her nest of one egg and six golf balls...too busy to do it in the evening and waiting to candle the one egg. If I can successfully move her to the broody crate, she'll get some of eggs from Mary that are in the bator.

Everyone is doing great!! Katie graced us with her presence at 9:04 pm last night. She weighed in at 6 lb 9 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. She was exactly one month early but is doing perfectly Michelle started to leak amniotic fluid yesterday afternoon and the doctor decided her water had actually broken so it was time to get Katie here. We had about a half hour to get over to the hospital and then ended up waiting till 8:30 to go back to surgery.. The c-section went perfectly, took 6 minutes for Katie to show up.... I tried to post a picture when I got home at 1 but the internet wasn't working.. so here is her first picture... I'll take some more when I go over after getting the kids off to school. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!! You guys have become an extended family!!
