Icelandic Chickens

In honor of the end of broody fever and needing to have a wisdom tooth extracted today I am having a GIVEAWAY on my blog. I think Mahonri put a curse on me or something.

Dentists can do that, I think. I still love ya Dar, and you are eligible to win!

Edited to say Kelly is eligible to win too if she comes over here and declares all my chicks to be pullets.

Hey Kathy! My olive egger that Mary gave me from your babies is now larger than my barnevelder boys. And she has silver flecks around her neck. I think she may start laying before the barnevelder girls!

I just prefer the broody raised chicks, all trained by experts, finest kind !!

But then I dont want to raise hundreds of chicks, about 20-30 or so next year would be fine.

10 wakeups til leaving time.

My first giveaway entry.

I checked my broody earlier and two of the babies had fallen out of the nest box so I put them back. They can be seen here standing at Mama's rear end. The last two are still going strong, one zipping and one moving and peeping like crazy. So I did not move them tonight. Tomorrow will have to do. I did put a barricade in front of the nest box to keep the babies from falling out during the night.
