Icelandic Chickens

As you sleep in your warm beds tonight say a little prayer for Kelly who is in a sleeping bag, in a tent on a Boy Scout camp-out and multi-mile hike!

Poor dear. Ok, I am off to go nite-nite in my Tempur-pedic adjustable bed.

Good news/bad news on getting everyone to bed tonight. The Isbar trio went into the big coop but were huddled in the floor by the feeder. That's a win because they hadn't been going in the little quarantine coop lately. They roosted on top and I put them in after they fell asleep.

The bad news is the five 6 week olds didn't go up the ramp to the red lights, but the good news is Michael offered to lay on his belly and get them up there with the net.

The really good news news is that I got all three coops cleaned and all I have left is to clean the quarantine coop and sweep up the shavings in the run. It always feel so good to get everything clean. Michael even brought up the big shop vac from the barn and we got the corners, the nest boxes and the cobwebs. I even filled the waterers for the morning. After a long, hot shower I feel good!

Vicodin from your wisdom tooth extraction. Am I wrong tho about someone sending you a bunch of different chocolate candies?? Maybe that was just a brain fart - I'm sorry

Look at how she talks, poor Kelly in a sleeping bag while Queen Mary is lounging on her Tempur pedi probably being fanned and fed grapes or something. I'd like to think it was just drugs and not her true nature to gloat like that. What would Judge Judy say???

It does feel good to have all that work done, for sure. Too bad it doesn't last a little longer, huh. I was about to begin my fall cleaning too, but changed my mind when the molt attack began. OMG, I have feathers everywhere. Two ladies from work brought their granddaughters here last week to collect feathers.

They wear feathers in their hair, ya know. They wanted some of George's hackles, but nooooo way is that gonna happen. That is one pen that is not molting! He does have beautiful hackles though, I agreed. (George is my Project F1 rooster, if you don't remember). They were all inspecting the Icelandic pen for a chance at those beautiful feathers too! Most settled for Barred Rock feathers, because they thought stripped feathers were cool. My poor nekkid birds look a sight.

Anyway, it is raining cats and dogs here, so I was not about to go out and clean this weekend. I am lounging all weekend.

The red lights didn't work? Hmmm, I thought that was a fabulous idea. I bet they will get the idea in a day or two. They will get the routine down quickly. Smart birds, it won't take long.
