Aw, thanks for missing me Kathy.

I just got home this evening, I was down in Arkansas visiting the daughter, SIL and granddaughter! I wish it wasn't a 10+ hour drive each way! My daughter made a video compilation from their two visits here of the chickens and my granddaughter (14 months old this weekend) loves to watch it. She doesn't like to watch any other TV, not even Elmo, but will stand in front of the TV pointing and saying "Cluck" at the TV when the "chicken video" is on!!

I left the chickens in the care of my chicken buddy and she said she hadn't seen any chicks in the special "broody coop". But, of course, I checked when I got home anyway! When I saw there were shells when I tried to look, I went in the house and got some mealworms as a bribe. Kleo was raised by Chickie Mama and I knew she'd be a great mom if she got the chance. Love my broody mamas!!

Well that is just too darned cute Mary. Wait until Lukka finds out that as if tomorrow she is setting on Barnevelder eggs! She's gonna' have a fit!

DH is in a deer blind a few acres away on a neighboring property, and he called me on his cell, whispering, he says: some guy stopped in front pf our property, side of the road, and went back and dealing with something, opened up a bunch of dog crates..and what jumps out is a pied female /blue peacock, a white peacock hen and a blue male//
Then the guys slams the tailgate & hauls buns down the road.
Well, DH got the make & model...and now ya know what is gonna happen?????????
The birds WILL drift here, and that is exactly why the *&^%$## guy dumped them in front of our place!

HA! No way! She will be thrilled to be covering eggs. Her dream job.

Mary - I'm just glad that these pretty barnevelder eggs won't go to waste. I'm honored that Lukka will be raising my babies. She's an amazing momma hen!

Mary that is great on the pullet with the clutch !! Great genes !! I hope mine will follow suit, in the spring. Did your feathed-legged ones show more of the leg feathering as they grew out? I am really curious and interested in that. I also am glad to see you back.

Kathy that is a huge downsize, but one that will give you some rest .

I am glad the project is ongoing, they are really beautiful birds. I wish you all the best with them!

Robin a cheap way to get some expensive peafowl, bad on him though.

How many others do you know of here in Wa that have Icelandics? 3 of us? More ? Might be interesting to put a display together for a show next year? Display only, I myself doNOT want to do any show showing. But it could help to spread interest here.
