TO DIE FOR!!!! I can live without summer suasage..ick.
I will look into the wine salami....wish I knew who the butcher was...........
Yes we had that much snow & more last winter..bout dropped all my pen nets.
Isn't it funny looking?????????

Gotta go close coops~~~~~~

No, don't want to buy a house there (step dad's ex wife lives there), but I love that stretch of road through the hills off I-5 on the way to Clearlake, it's so pretty. We've gone through many, many times on the way to Ft. Bragg. Also love the road from Willits to the coast. I've never once seen an elk on that road - how funny. (haven't been though in several years) LOTS of pelican's on the lake though.

The butcher was in MT, as my step dad got his elk in Brittish Columbia. They gutted, cleaned, and packed in coolers until they got to the butcher. (4 deer too) I'll ask him and see if he remembers. He tracked the elk on foot for 2 days before getting him.

Yup we have/had many pelicanos (sp) over the lake.
LOVE Ft BRagg & Mendocino.cool place to camp: Cleon camp ground right behind the store

a favorite get-away-from-the 110-degree-heat place for us.
I cannot endure heat.
I get very sick.
Between hyper auto-immune disorders/Raynaud's/Hashimotos/ sjorens/Celiac/the chronic fatigue set in..Fibro myalgia.....you name it...I am sooooooooooooooooo happy here.
Some peoples, in my opinion, were meant to be (and have evolved to be) in certain places, I went back in 2000 to care for my Grandma then 94, and remet up with DH, so off he dragged me to stay there.
So one day after surfing for land 24/7, I packed up all my chickens and came here.
See photo.
Had to build coops fast!!
I HATED & HATE the heat, it kills me so bad I collaspe & have to stay indoors where an aie conditioner is on.
Way too much Celtic blood here.

Thursday: Kindergarten Halloween Party

Friday: No school--both kids in daycare--Daycare Halloween Party
Friday 5PM: Birtrthday Party-Peter Piper Pizza

Saturday: On the way to swim lessons, we realize we havent gotten the mail all week. Find invitation to party for that day.
Saturday 2-10PM: Costume B-day Party for kindergarten classmate. Costumes required for adults. Turns out to be a REALLY REALLY fun adult party as well.

Sunday: Dig trenches. Install plumbing. Move furniture. Get ready to pour 18' by 76' slab.
Sunday 3 PM: Go to FIL's for Halloween/Bday/Sday/Because I want to Party.

...I just got home and need a nap.

Here is my Kella pic of the week! Today was a miserable, cold, windy day and everyone was staying close to or inside the barn/coop so it's an inside shot:

I went to my youngest son's Halloween party. (older son I'm homeschooling, so no party for him) Maybe I'm having a mid life crisis a bit early.

Chickielady - please tell me you're not still living in the tent.
