Icelandic Chickens

I am already freaking and the eggs aren't even here yet!

56 days is average. The boys are too young to go broody. They are usually 2-3 years old before they go broody and the girls don't lay for a couple of years either. But we gotta' be ready when the time comes!
 
I can hardly wait to see those boys go broody. We all have that to look forward to.
It still cracks me up that boys go broody.

I think I will drive down the road today (about 5 miles) and see if this old neighbor guy still has his menagerie of exotic animals. Emus, Rheas, Lamas, etc. I will get pictures if he does. He is always trying to pawn some off on me. NO, ain't gonna happen!
