Looks like I'm going to be pulling out my bators. Boston has LOTS of fertile Icelandic eggs, in fact, he says he'll have 70 eggs by the 11th, so I'm going to take some off of his hands. He has 11 hens and two roos. Dexter and Blau. His Blau has really gotten HUGE and has a HUGE rose comb.
here is a link to the page where he has pics of the Icelandics I used to have,'
When I got home from work, my sister told me that a chicken escaped from the coop, and I knew that it was one of the Icelandics. I had let them out of their pen to free range in the coop, and some neighbor kids and some of my siblings went in the coop to see the calf and must have not shut the door.
They chased him to the brambles and could not find him.
I tried looking for him with my spot light for it was dark. Hope he shows up in the morning.
Congrats Mahonri! How is the neighbor situation doing?
I hope he comes back Daron.
We went to the local light parade last night - there were 150 floats! There was a stunning Andalusian horse in the parade along with a few donkeys. But the donkeys weren't as pretty as Jack and Diane. (Jack doesn't mind being pretty, right?

I so wanted to go to the parade Kelly! We didn't get out of the birthday party in Sac in time so we just came home. Plus Michael wanted to stop by Fryes and get another computer. He is returning the one he bought last week. Something about the video card. I was just glad there was a chair and a computer running so I could play Solitaire while he gabbed with the salesman.
Jack doesn't mind being called pretty but Diana would probably take exception to him being called pretty too.
The two most comfortable riding mules that I have ever been on were out of Morgans by a Mammoth jack, they were a pure comfy pleasure to ride, and incredibly sure footed on a wild ride through thick woods behind 5 hounds chasing a wild hog. But then back in the yard you could have put a baby on one to ride them around the yard. In fact I saw their 3 yr old grand daughter doing just that, with grandpa walking beside her, but, she was steering on her own. They dont get any better then those two.
So I have a real honest bias towards Jack. I would love to have a good saddle mule up here.
So Daron did you get your lost one back in yet?
My hens have started laying again, just about 12 days after coming out of the trailer into the new shed and with a 24 hr light. Only 2 a day but the others will be joining in, got some new milk plastic crates for nests for them. They fit an Icelandic hen quite nicely.
