yeah, I know, I check in at the hospital for my knee surgery at 8AM, surgery from 9-10:15 or so and then out of recovery and on my way home by about 11:30AM... then DW leaves me to go to Utah to pickup DS #3 who finished his last final today (in his freshman year of college) She'll be back by Saturday night. I HOPE!

You too?
I just narrowly avoided it for the second time..........whew!!
But I am still in a brace, and on the ice & mud it is not easy.
Nonethe less I am pushing myself to get back to normal...tore all the ACLs, but for a few shreds, and the inner ligaments of the left knee.
basically like someone was on the ground, and reached out & grabbed ahold of my ankle, and pulled hard, while shoving on the thigh.
I landed on my inner knee so hard gravel was stuck in my flesh..and lower leg sticking out sidesways..suddenly veru short...........then the pain hit.
Classic football injury!
You too??

You just described my left knee... almost exactly!

But he said I'd be running back up the mountain in three weeks. I HOPE SO!

Glad they arrived safe and sound Jake!

A friend set some of my eggs for me and just let me know our first Ice baby hatched out! Can't wait to see what color its going to be. Keeping fingers crossed for more to hatch!

How many times did you do the Elvis impression (

).....I had it 2X now, the odd part is the first time I was ON MY BUTT unable to bear weight for 2 mo........this time I got the "old immobilizer" out of storage & got off the dirt in 35 minutes (after screaming for 35 minutes!!!) and with help, I was UP, and have been up & into PT ever since.
Are they doing a ligament replacement or a total knee?

Mahonri, best of luck in Surg & please let me know how it goes & what was done.
I ripped off almost completely, the LCL,if you sit & touch your knees together, the LCL ligaments will touch.
I tore the entire meniscus loose, again, as in 2008...............

ACL & PCL are both torn but OK & the docs say there is only 1 ligament in the knee that will self repair, and that is the LCL.
So you better believe I am working my PT & doing as best as I can...up here in the woods and no one, but DH is supposed to get home tonight after being gone a week....I can live without crutches in the ICE!

Jake::: It was 21 here 3 days ago, 27 the next, and was a big low of 34 here this AM.
G'night and best wishes for a speedy surg with Mahonri!!!!!

Wow, Okla, you weren't kidding when you said your flock looked like mine!!!!
Even side-by-side they could be pics of the same flock! I don't have the pretty light mottled color or the deep blue (yet!), but the rooster and other hens sure look like mine!! But, then, they should, since The Sheriff has generously spread them around!!!

Okla-doodle-doo... I'm soo jealous of the green grass!! We have been getting snow flurries the last couple of days but it has been frigid the last couple of weeks.. lows down to 0 and on warm days highs in the 30s... I noticed a couple of my big orpington & maran roos have a bit of frostbite on their combs... Have I mentioned that I can't wait for the barn to be finished??
