And that hen is so BEAUTIFUL... I hope Blau is the daddy of her eggs. Such a gorgeous blue.
Yeah, if you can keep her away from where the other hens lay, you have a better chance of hatching out the eggs. If they are knocking her off the eggs or laying extras in it then it becomes a problem. Mark all of the eggs she has now so that if others do lay in her box you can remove the new ones. I think Mary actually ended up building broody boxes to put in her coops to separate the broodies and then she could feed and water them right in the box.
Can you hang a 250 watt heat lamp in there, just to take the edge off of the cold in the coop??... I know this week you'll probably see temps in the low teens up there with all of that snow on the ground.
