Muscovy Lover- Yes, its a Jersey
Thank you everyone. The vet will come tomorrow at 9 am.
I have enough eggs for a 2 dozen eggs to be ship tomorrow, but due to the possible threat of the disease, I cannot on a good mind send them eggs. May have to ask them to wait for the results to come back, or have someone else send them eggs.
We want to have the cow for milk for family use, and will give the extra milk that we don't use for the chickens and pigs. It takes a week before the results comes back, believe me, it will be the longest week that I will endure.Quote:
I think the jersey calves look like little deer! Will it be a milk cow for your family?![]()
How long will you have to wait to hear results on the blood test?
Thank you for your prayers, I really need them.Kella and Brella are dreamy TOO!
Daron, I'm praying for you.
Was there someone buying your Icelandic eggs?
If so, I'd bet Boston would have enough to sell to someone.
NotAFarm offered to take my place on shipping those eggs. I will need to email the guy to give him a heads up on my situation, and see if he wants to wait until the results comes back, since he had paid for them. My Icelandics share the same pen with the peafowl, but the peacock is the only one that is having issues. If my peacock does have MG, it would be interesting if the Icelandic's comes back negative, since Icelandics were reported to be immune to some poultry diseases.
Kathy, don't worry, those weights seem fine. But remember my rotten egg and my infertile egg all lost weight too. One of the hatch participants on the emu thread said she could see movement in the starting around Day 33. I never took mine out and put them on a flat surface to check until about Day 40 if I recall correctly. There is someone else on the emu thread with a fetal stethoscope who listens for heartbeats. Make sure you do the sniff test. I know the eggs I sent you were freshly laid the day or two before. But, you have to do the sniff test test because they are very porous immediately after being laid and if they roll into water or mud they can absorb germs and spoil. The farm where these came from is on fairly steep land and they do roll.
