Icelandic Chickens

Kathy, I know they mean well but, please watch your eyes when they groom you. Remember when Mary's emu,the great PINCHER decided to taste her husband. That hurt even on my side of the video - ouch!

Hi everyone, just catching up on the news, hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share some quick pictures of Mary (not a farm)s chicks that are a few weeks old, along with some icelandic chicks I just picked up from Sandhill preservation center. Can't wait until they all feather out!

Notafarm - huh so your DH is hankering for a new camera and your present one is having problems. Do I see a link here????

Maybe your card reader is the problem. If I don't put the card in just perfectly, it doesn't work and I get no pictures. B ut, I still think your husband is the instigator and I don't even know him.Just don't tell him I said that.

Hello Icelandic enthusiasts,

We are new to the Icelandic chicken world, and new members of BYC.

At present we have two ~4 day old chicks we incubated from eggs we received from Lyle Behl. It was our first incubation
attempt, and a learning process. We started with 18 eggs, 10 at lock down, one pipped but did not zip, two healthy hatches,
and seven developed but dead embryos. The two eggs we got to hatch have the blue gene.

We have identified adjustments we need to make and are looking forward to round two incubation with a shipment of eggs on
the way from Mary at Buck 'n Run Ranch.

Just thought we would introduce ourselves to the Icelandic community.
