Mary those Canadians respond nicely to feeding and will quickly be handfeeding if you want to, Canadians are my very favorite geese, so much about them to like, if you dont let them get bossy, I have held a couple ganders at arms length by the neck now and then, but they get the message and lay off bullying, that said, I really do like them, those and Wood Ducks, my favorite water fowl. The goslings are lots of fun, I have handfed many of those, watch the parents though, be ready to have a handful for them, or a broomstick works well if they dont want the feed, most prefer the feed.

Kathy I hope the hail missed your place ! I loved MacDonald Territory but the weather was sure often a valid conversation subject. But when it was nice it was NICE!

Freezing again last night but supposed to be in the 50s this afternoon, with sun, lots of play time this afternoon with the pups, it has been warmer the last three mornings in Caswell, AK then here. From what I understand Caswell is about 88 miles north of Anchorage, and 20-30 miles north of Michelles in Willow. The countdown continues, about 68 days if I got it right.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

I made a video last night of our goslings and thanks to HughesNet, it has been uploading for the last 12 hours. If I ever get it online I will share. I can't take my eyes off those babies. Thanks for the info Jake but I think I will take a hands off approach to these guys lest I can't bear to let go and steal them from their mama.

Lovely babies you have :) I can't wait to have broodies -- I can only hope they'll be as focused as yours!
All the bad weather missed us. It is a beautiful morning! I have to go sleep and won't get to enjoy it. Gotta work again tonight.

I have chicks! This broody is, "intense!" She has hatched 5 and has 2 eggs left. I added one chick (from her clutch that I put in the incubator). So, here are 6 chicks. I will wait until later today to change out the mess, and get it all cleaned up. Maybe those last 2 will hatch.

Here are a couple of the chicks in the brooder.....

AND, Broody mama outside this morning with her 3 chicks....
