Icelandic Chickens

Bees are both easy, and fascinating, as well as great suppliers of food and pollination.

A feeder when starting a hive out gives them a boost, as well as one in late winter on warm days. I have always enjoyed them, rarely ever got stung, and that usually my own fault when one got caught in my clothing somehow.

What kind are those bantams ?? Pretty little guys,

One of my Icees is trying to be a broodie but the others laying with her make it hard. So does my taking the eggs !

I think we have a broody record here!

Meet my 4 and a half month old Cream Legbar girl. She is brooding two Cream Legbars babies I put in with them when they were 3 days old. You can see one of her babies peeking out at the bottom of this picture. The babies are ten days old today!

Here's her second baby. She's a good little Mama. She was growling an biting my hand when I was trying to get her to lift up so I could see her babies.

The little white roo is an Icelandic. Here is a picture I took with my camera on some weird setting. I kinda like it. It's artsy.

Love my cream legbars!
