Icelandic Chickens

Jake, I have no idea who begot Fugly. My Icelandics were all running together.

Congrats on your upcoming journey. When you get settled maybe I can send you some hatching eggs from from Lukka/Isi to start your flock over. They are the only Icelandic's I will have of breeding age for at least six months. I have two eggs collected. Hopefully she will lay a few more before going broody.

I couldn't find Fugly last night when I locked up. I thought maybe a hawk got him or he wandered off the property. On my way out of the coop I saw him sound asleep, roosting on the lip of the feeder tray two inches off the ground. Poor sweet thing.

I know! It's so cold here too. Supposed to rain this afternoon and snow down to 5000 ft. I am running out every few minutes and checking my Isbar broody and baby. Mama doesn't shoo the others away from the baby and that is causing problems. It is times like you I really appreciate Lukka the superbroody. NOBODY messes with her babies.

Gotta go find my winter stormchaser coat.

Let's see if I can even remember how to upload pics!

This gorgeous girl at 4.5 months laid her first egg yesterday. Kinda looks like a RC LB Leghorn! I love her coloring and her little crest.

This girl almost has a top-hat thing going on! Reminds me of one of Laree's from the past.

Here are three girls... top is a black Icelandic with a crest..., Middle one almost looks like a Golden Campine. bottom one is one of my favs but she is so skittish I couldn't get a good pic of her... but she's beautiful. Boston hatched her out and she has some amazing colors.

A blue Icelandic girl and a red pyle girl... at least I hope it's a girl! (pay no attention to the olive egger in the upper right hand corner)

Another group shot... Black crested, Golden crested, Blue and Golden Campine looking Icelandics.

Enough of Icelandics..

I need help. Is this white Ameraucana a boy or a girl. 5 months old.

The sole survivor of my SFHs NYD hatch... is it a boy or a girl?

And here are two that I bought to replace the other two that hatched out that died.
I'm thnking the light colored one is going to be a roo... but it's blind in one eye.

Just put more water in the coop. It only got up to 92 today WAHOO!

Think they are thirsty?

Can you see the gorgeous Red Sussex roo on the left that I'll be selling SOON. (He hasn't crowed yet but he's been breeding all of my W/BW Ameraucana girls.

I FINALLY TOOK PICS! Takes a holiday weekend I guess!
