Hope everyone is having a great long weekend this Memorial Day.

I spent most of the morning reading Memorial Day articles on the web trying to understand why this happens. I understand WWII but I am no closer to figuring out the rest of it. We might not agree with the war, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't honor those who fought and paid the ultimate price or those who continue the fight.

She can skip straight to the part about stop sitting on them at four weeks!

As you celebrate this Memorial Day, remember our fallen soldiers. Soooo many of them.

Finally got a broody! Last night I carefully waited until dark, felt around the nesting boxes to find her and transfered her to the eggs I really wanted her to hatch in the broody pen. All in the dark so that she would be calm and hopefully take to the new eggs. I was so excited to check this morning to see if she took to the new eggs. Imagine my surprise when I realized I got the wrong hen! This hen just happened to be sleeping in a nesting box for the night! sigh.......
