Icelandic Chickens

Here is Dusty with some of her babies. They were moving around so fast it was hard to get a picture! There is a wellie behind her that's blurry and the black split ameraucana is in the nest box hiding from the mean camera.


And I managed a couple of shots of the 2 lavs. Wanna take bets on this one? I'm betting cockerel.

The wellies wouldn't stand still long enough for a picture.......even on my action setting.

She is not letting me anywhere near those babies. My barnevelder rooster has been pacing the enclosure trying to be with her. He's looking after her and the babies.

I'm giving her a week to be with them before letting them out with the flock.


And I have 2 other girls that have plucked their bellies clean, but not broody.................yet. One is my olive egger that went broody last year. The other is an english orp. Hopefully one of them is broody when the turkeys come.
