Icelandic Chickens

I could do with some ad blocker right now. I keep getting an ad on the right for anti-keeping chickens in cages, PETA type ad.

Do you ever nudge a poor sleeping chick to make sure it's alive???

Every time I do, I feel like Shirley MacLaine in Terms of Endearment, pinching that poor baby until it cries and saying "There, that's better!"

I lost a turkey poult today. Not as in dead but as in lost it. The baby fell out when I opened the brooder door then spent the next hour exploring the screen room. I injured my back and can't bend down to the ground. I finally got him when he jumped up on something.

Whoa, that would be scary. I have some back issues so I feel your pain. I raised Newfoundland dogs for many years but my back couldn't take the grooming, well mor e like the bathing. Their coats are imperveous to water so it is no easy task. At one point I had 5 Newfies, and the grooming was too much. Chickens are muche easier although I think I may become a hoarder if I don't watch it.
