Icky mucky coop woes

You could seal off that window for now & open during the hotter months? Or as suggested, get us a picture so we can try help solving the problem.

I use shavings, Poop Board w/PDZ under the roost they sleep on ... Scoop the nightly poop daily. I ferment their feed, so there really is less poop, it's firm (easy pick up) & I don't get a stink. The cecal however is still stinky & soft :(

We've had alot of rain storms this year, their area did "flood" several times this Summer. I remove the soaking wet shavings & pile it out in the back to be used as mulch for my yard, if my patio isn't underwater I then pile it on a tarp there & put a fan to dry it out. But if it's "damp" I just add more shavings & move it around several times a day, everyday ... And pray for the rain to stop.

My enclosure basically stays dry but there's a section that seeps water when the ground gets saturated. So I channel the water out but the shaving clogs up the drain hole :flhopefully remedied that issue this weekend. Next storm will tell...

The rain leaking in due to poor vent install/location is the problem here, not the choice of litter. Until you fix the problem with water getting in, no litter choice is going to work well, because there's simply no place for the water to go. Scooping and sifting sand only works when it's dry, and shavings or hay/wood/other similar litters are only absorbent when dry.

Photos of the inside of coop along with problem areas would help a lot.

Ditto Dat^^^
Pics would help us help you.

Knowing your location would help too....
.....'Golden Valley' and 'The Driftless Area' don't help much at all ;)

As you can see, the inside is really gross. I’m going to try and clean it again today.

2x aart - Flip the vent/window cover so hinges are at top. Use a prop to hold it open when needed, use weather stripping around the edges of the flap to seal when closed. Outside of the nest box, caulk the cracks & joints, extend to roof line more so there's a larger overhang & caulk/seal the top section towards the vent/window.
The ledge in front of the nest boxes, I'm not sure but could do as suggested in other posts paint or linoleum on wood & add shavings ... Thinking aart may have a better idea.
