No, it's okay as the bag probably contains the correct amino acids to help digest it. If I was going to put together my own feed, however, I'd put more wheat than barley in the recipe.

Awesome! I'm still waiting for my silver pullet to start laying. She's in my OE pen and is a total nutcase. She thinks I'm going to kill her every time I go in there. Let me know if you need another roo come spring. I have two blue wheatens and three silver running around for the winter. I'll process them next year, maybe. Rooster noodle soup. For now, they are in charge of keeping the horse manure raked out. They have divided themselves up into zones and have been doing such a good job, that I decided not to round up those guys for freezer camp quite yet. Everything else is done, thank goodness! Those ducks were NOT easy.
Oh yeah, I remember that guy! I think it was the hen that was courting HIM. She had that big headed son with the glasses. I liked that cartoon. LOLLol, this made me laugh... thinking about those roos as manure rakers.. made me think of, what's his name, that rooster on the cartoons?? The big Leghorn rooster that was always bossing everyone around and trying to court that skinny leghorn hen?? I'm probably not making any sense... it's late, I need to go to bed!! LOL!
