Idaho?

Any polish experts out there? I have four polish juveniles. I'm thinking....boys. However, I'm not very familiar with this breed. Any guesses? They are large fowl bearded polish.

OMGoodness, they are so cute !!!

Hard to tell for sure...the wider the tips are on the individual crest feathers, the better chance of girls, They get reallly pointy and/or stringy on boys. Some of these pics are from the side so hard to see the width of the feathers, but that last one that is facing the camera looks reasonably girlish, the feathers look nice and wide on the tips. Love the muffs on that one too, so cute! :)

I'm so hoping I have a girl in this group!

Here's a photo of what my wheaten and golden olive egger pullets are looking like this year. I think they're pretty. I had only black and blue ones last year. Oh, and I have cuckoo ones, too.

Oh man! They look great! But wait--you mean I am going to have to choose what color? Lol. You are supposed to provide only ONE option. Choices are not good. Choices make bad chicken math sense. As if chicken math makes sense at all in the first place. (Not good).

I clearly remember coming to buy one OE pullet last year and taking two because one came from Wheaten am and one came from a Silver Am, and they both looked basically identical....I am in trouble

Yep...there are choices this year other than silver hackle black or copper hackle black. I had some blue cuckoo but those were scooped up quick. It will be interesting to see how the olive eggers mature. All of the cuckoo could get gold in their hackles or they might just stay regular cuckoo. I think I see some gold in there, though. The golden and wheaten have the puffiest cheeks. All of them had puffy cheeks at hatch, but it seems like the cuckoo lost theirs. Maybe they will come back in. ???

ACK!!! All these beautiful birds!!! I am wringing my hands seeing pics of those chicks Michelle!!

Some of my EE chicks are feathering out like those wheaten chicks, they are really pretty, I like them, too... awesome that yours are OE's!!

Our coop comes today! :D

We were lucky enough to find someone locally who makes beautiful ones for cheaper than we could hand build. It was an amazing shock actually.

All we have to do is paint it. I also want to lay down some stick tile on the flooring.

I am excited! The only down side is I have the run fully up. a 12ft by 12ft chain link fence. I dug it 3in into the ground to help with preditors and now we have to dig up a side to be able to get the coop inside of it since we didn't build it... wish I would have thought of that first! But I didn't know we would buy.... haha

Yay coop! Glad to see you made it over here!

Was the chicken ordinance defeated in Burley last night? I thought it was next week but our city manager thought it was defeated last night. Hopefully he was wrong.
The good news is we found out we can have 30 chickens even roosters. Also there is a 15 foot set aside but he said we probably wont have problems with where our shed is if the across the street owner doesnt get ticked off about it.
We do want it moved though.
