Would anybody be interested in some Splash Marans and/or BBS Mottled Ameraucana? I have eggs due to hatch May 24th and I can already see some very good development in the ameraucana. (I can't tell on the Marans eggs yet) I only need a few chicks out of these hatches so the rest will be available. Of course I'm assuming I'll hatch at least the number I need.

What kind of blue were the Am eggs ?

They are actually quite nice! I was surprised. I bought them for an olive egger/easter egger project and wasn't even thinking about breeding this variety but seeing the eggs it's tempting. LOL

I might I need to do a few laps around the yard to try and ward off impulsive chicken shopping. If I cannot resist I will let you know lol mottled poofy cheekers would just be so darn cute....

I'm hoping for a couple mottled splash or blue pullets to cross with a jubilee orpington rooster for mottled/mf type easter eggers. I think it would be so cool so I can't resist giving it a try. I hope these eggs hatch. So far so good. I have development in almost all of them.

Oh yes, the puffy cheeks would be essential! Both the jubilee and the mottled share color genetics so what I'm picturing in my head should be amazingly cute. We'll see. It's worth a try.
