Idaho?

So my bantam cochins have turned out to be barred. Is it safe to say that they are girls since they have more black than white and no comb or wattle development at 5.5ish weeks old?

The SLW are so sweet. All 3 of them will jump onto whomever's hand is in the brooder. I hope they stay so dang friendly. They were sold as pullets so hopefully no surprise boys either.

And just because I know all of you like pictures
I changed over to sand in the brooder so everybody was loaded in a box

Sweet Gyspy Jane. I was trying to take a picture of the pretty white-tipped feathers on her back...she had other ideas.

I took about a dozen of those before I finally got this one

And this is Moxie who still thinks she needs to fly. She's limping a bit since she flew up there, not too much. I hope she'll be ok. She's my favourite. The pictures don't do her justice, she's mostly a fiery orange!

And this is a video of them playing with a baby toy

I'm going to have some extra mille fluer bantam cochin babies available this weekend if anybody is interested. Fuzzy footed babies! So cute!!

Sure. There is a guy on the UT thread that has bantam roos and LF hens that are breeding and they hatch chicks all the time.

I also have chicks from another gal that are from a silkie roo over LF Amer hens.

Bacon?? LOL! That is what my dog is thinking for sure

I would really like a frizzled white cochin but not seeing them for sale anywhere. McMurray does have the frizzled bantam cochins. Not white but I would settle for black. :)

LOL....yes, I know what you mean. I'm at the end of my hatching season. I still have a few more to go in the hopes of filling pullet orders....but except for one for my duck and quail eggs my incubators will be put away soon. You hear me???? PUT AWAY!!....IN THE BOXES! Nooooooooo more looking at all those other breeds out there. NO! I say....NO! Oh dear....I have a serious hatching addiction.

YEAH, ME TOO!!!!!

I will ditto what others have said about hatching season, and right now I am tired of having chicks in the house/garage, etc... I might set a few more eggs in a few weeks but then that is all!!

Okay.... one more thing I'm going to sell, too.... I will post here and on the UT thread and then they will go on craigslist and KSL...

I have a pair of American White Bresse, they are not related and can be used for breeding.. They are both about 5 months old, the roo just started crowing and the pullet is now POL, comb is just starting to get pink... If you have not heard of them, they are a French meat bird which apparently is very sought after. I would love to work with them, but I do not have enough room to free range them like the French do and then finish them on corn so that their meat is tasty, tasty...

Anyone on BYC I will sell the pair for $40... Will post pics tonite when I can get to my home computer...

Oh, and Anne... I thought I heard that Valley Wide in Rexburg at one time had white cochins?? but theres are sexed pullets, of course, unless you want to take the chance and by a bunch of them in hopes you get the odd rooster chick in there, lol
