Idaho?

Well. I thought I was coming down this weekend but the kiddo is sick and so an 8 hour drive with an upset tummy seemed like a bad idea. Groan. No show for momma.

Today is my chicks hatching day! Tomorrow they will be shipped and hopefully will be here monday! Now to finish up the coop in the rain to move the 3 EE's we bought waiting! lol.

Sorry, now I'm hogging the thread, lol...

So those early hatchers?  Well, so far there have been 5 of them, 5?!?!?!  The others aren't due till Saturday, sheesh, but now I'm all nervous that I miscalculated the whole thing and the others won't even hatch, grrrrr....  Is it really possible that 5 eggs started developing under my flaky broodies, sat in my basement for, what, several days to a week and then started going again when I put them in the bator??  Tough little chickies, if that is the case!

Oh, and Susan, would LOVE to meet you!!!

Could be possible. I remember reading about a hatchery that pulled some duck eggs for balut and the buyer didn't show so after a couple days they put them back in the incubator and had something like an 85% hatch rate!

Anybody want some blue orpington chicks? I have some extra after filling a special order PLUS I hatched more blue orps from a different breeder. I was hoping for splash out of the shipped eggs.

My chicks are in Twin! Now to get over there or get my daughter to get them for me! I am excited. :) And the chicken coop is not done for the three we bought that are a month old. lol. Hope they like their temporary brooder for a day! Or two.

Got them. One male white cochin is not making it. He has some injury probably trip caused. That leaves me with one male. A partridge cochin unless the freebee, a buff cochin, is male. Quite disappointed that the poor little male is pretty much gone. He looks real pretty too.
I was hoping to raise a few white cochins from him.
The partidge one is cuter than heck and I did order one female to match up with him. :D

Wow, that's pretty amazing, and pretty much what happened to mine, I'm guessing, since all the others are not hatching on schedule!!

On that note... I have olive egger, bantam easter egger and easter egger chicks hatching this weekend.... anyone want some?? I am selling them cheap to get the chicks out of my house, lol... This is the last group of them I am hatching this year... send me a PM if so.. I live in the IF area...
