It isnt my chicken but was curious.Mossyness refers to the copper and/or straw markings intermixing with the black. It can have a barred or penciled look. It's not uncommon to see in BCM youngsters when they start to feather, mostly on the wings....but if it covers the whole body and doesn't blend out by six weeks then the bird isn't good for breeding. The bird you showed almost looks like it has actual barring. It will be interesting to see how it looks upon maturity. I would guess that this bird will have a lot of color where it should be black. If it's a female, I'd put her in your layer pen. The mossy females often lay very nice eggs.
