how fun!

We will have to compare quality - I ordered some from a different breeder that will be shipped closer to January. Our new pair (dubbed Adam & Eve by my son) have also started to lay.

I would love to see how yours turn out :)

Here's to a successful hatch!!

I'll for sure post pics when they pop out!

My Catfance silkies are getting too big... I'm going to have to upgrade their tub soon... but I didn't see any bigger ones, will have to improvise. LOL Too cold to stick 'em outside, poor dears.

5.5 weeks! Almost have all of their big kid feathers. If it were still warm I'd stick them out, but we've been getting to freezing or close to it. :(

Ya i guess that is still a little young. I have 4 chicks out side that are 11 weeks. they still have their mom but only one or 2 can fit under her (bantam). The 2 silkies that are with her sleep next to her and the bantam RIR's try to squeeze under her. I will probable add a light tonight cause its supposed to get down to low 20 for a few days.

My big girls haven't gotten along too well with the youngin's when I've tried to put them together, when it was warmer and we were able to have outside time. They were interested, but kept pecking them on their heads and such. If they had all gotten along, I'd of left them out with my two girls to help keep them warm.

since it is getting down in the low 20's and freezing everything, would you force chickens inside? My chickens sleep with my ducks... outside on a roost next to them. Last year when it got really cold I would nightly, place them one by one in their coop (with the ducks so thhey didn't freak out). Should I do it again... ?
