There is a Facebook group called Backyard Chickens of East Idaho. It's a closed group, so you'll have to request membership, but it's good for keeping up on local events and when people have chickens to sell or exchange.

50!!! I aspire to that! Haha We've got twelve of the 15 we started with. One died as a wee chick. We lost a hen that the rooster had picked as his favorite target this winter, and then we ate the rooster.
More are being added this spring for sure! I'd love to have a nice-ish rooster. And now I have specific breeds on the want list. We're in Pocatello.

If you are ever in Twin Falls, let me know. I live near Twin and have a couple extra cockerels, a Polish and an Isbar. The Isbar cockerel should be very well behaved as his father is a nice rooster. No guarantees on the Polish, though.

Isbar, that's super tempting! He'd be the odd one out in my flock. I've got Easter Eggers, SLW, and Australorps right now. I'm on a mission to add a land race breed and some dark brown layers. Marans or Welsummers probably.

We just moved to Idaho Falls a couple weeks ago. We came from Albuquerque where the backyard chicken limit is 15, including 1 allowed rooster. I am having a hard time with the idea of only 6 hens! We are buying a house in Ammon and then we will build our flock. How strict do city officials and neighbors tend to be with the limit in this area? Can you generally get away with more? Also, where is good to buy feed and supplies around here? What breeds do you find do best in this weather? Temperament is important for me. I want good egg layers but I also love the blue eggs and my Ameraucanas in Albuquerque did not lay in the winter at all- winter is about half as long there as it is here. Albuquerque is so nice and warm that it will be like learning to take care of chickens all over again here! Is Dunlap the closest local hatchery? I was hoping not to ship chicks but that is farther than I want to drive. Any other tips for raising chickens here would be appreciated!
Most of my family that live in the IF area get their supplies at the Cal-Ranch store, that may be because it is just the most convent or it may be the only real choice. One of my cousins orders most of his stuff online and then makes up his own feed. Welcome to Idaho.
