A lady came from Pocatello and bought three of the last five this morning....I have two black with white crests left

I am in Logan UT though, and come up to Blackfoot/Id falls every once in awhile, where are you at?

Jeez, I am Poky also, wish I had been faster, she could have picked up one for me and I would have given her some extra cash for her trouble.

Lisa, you and your hatching crack me up, but I"m not much better now, lol... I am running at full-capacity, haha...

I put my chicks outside about 2 weeks ago that hatched in January and put a light on them at night, they are LOVING being outside!! They are so funny when I let them out in the morning and they all fly around like crazy chickens with their heads cut off... er, I mean, well, with their heads on, haha

For anyone in the IF area, I have several Easter Egger chicks available, still... they are CUTE!! Oh, and a couple Wheaten Ameracauna chicks, too. Some of my older EE chicks are starting to get wheaten-looking feathering, I think they are going to be really pretty... They are from my sexlink hens in with the wheaten Amer roos... hopefully will be really good layers, too...

I like your coop camp. That's the kind of space I have to work with too. Right between the house and the fence. My chickens will be in a 6ft tall two level ferret cage wrapped in a tarp until my husband can build a coop there. It's currently under a lot of snow.

I bought bunnies last fall, and put them in with my chickens. Two problems I had, they kept burrowing under the perimeter, deep holes, and escaping, and the chickens tried to go out the holes too. Also, they were ok in the run, and coop--the chickens did not peck them, but when they would Hop, my girls would scatter and squawk...really bad, to the point that i had a couple hens break toenails and bleed, one's wing got hurt, I finally re-homed the bunnies because my girls just would not get used to them, their sudden movements scared them too much

Thank you for the info. Since I have gotten the chicks I have the sudden urge to have a small animal farm in my backyard...but it seems I should get over it. Lol

Can a rabbit stay in the coop and run with my chickens?

I had rabbits in the coop with my chickens, but the rabbits were in cages on the wall in front of the North windows so they got a lot of light. I don't think they would be good just running in the coop because they do dig. I think if they didn't get out they would make a mess is the yard. and coop.

I really like the cuckoos. For my GCM, the first thing I'm working on is bigger size and correct conformation. So many GC out there are kinda small looking. I like my marans beefy.

My FBCM is beefy like that. I need to find him another couple of girls so I can seperate him out and start a breeding pen. His leg feathers are a bit wimpy, but the rest of him is awesome. If I could find a couple of nicely feathered girls I think I'd have something there.

It's common for the males to pluck out their leg feathers. Either that or the ladies do it to him. If he had them as a juvenile, he has the genetics to pass it on. I don't know why the males do that.

Huh! How odd! He just has these little nubs of them, like they never grew in right, I got him at about 8 mo old, so he's probably 14-15 months now.
