Idaho?

Here is my beautiful Gheato Coop was thinking about building a new actual coop but to be honest it works.. and it did keep my chickens warm even if they didnt want to go in the little coop hut i have inside

Looks nice!

Yeah we had a 12ft x 12ft dog run that we've had for 20+ years and it was never used but once for about a month. I pulled that out and dug it 3 to 4" in the ground and we have a coop placed inside of it that I will be locking them in at night.

I am excited, getting the wiring tomorrow and we should be able to get it done within the week if school and work allow.

thank you thank you.. i see i'm not the only one that uses a Dog run as a coop safe area for the chickens i see you do the same thing there

Why yes, yes I do :)

I need to update the album - we've added a couple of thick branches about halfway up in 1 corner of the run - there are a few girls that really enjoy climbing around on them.

I've seen quite a range of coops/runs. One guy was using old appliances and cupboards - don't think the chickens care, as long is they feel safe and dry!

I crack up at some of the interior decor I've seen for coops - curtains and a chandelier ??

We demand pics!!!

I was super excited to get ours set up - it is not the most professional set-up but it serves us well.

I am a great believer in using what you have if possible. Our chicks are going to go onto a porch that we never use. Its very decrepit but not going to be hard to fix up. It is off a storage room so not even connected to a used part of the house. No point in wasting money!

woot i love how everyone is so creative... to be honest my dog run i think is the best coop i've ever had.. its easy to take down and move if i ever move.. and all i hjave to do is put it back up and shove my big ole branches and junk i have inside it.. yeah i have a Dog house, coop, 4 Animal carriers and a Ferret cage, and a rabbit cage all in my dog run as homes for them some of them sleep in the ferret cage cause i have branches in it, the baby chicks that are almost 2 months old are in the coop with a bird cage infront of it so they cant run around with the big chickens and get killed, and the rest sleep on top of the ferret cage in side 3 of the animal carriers its just a disaster how my coop looks i'm like shoot let see what else i can fit in there see if i can find more things to fill it up and make it look like a storage unit for the chickens ><

yeah hexi wire is good thats the name i was trying to think of.. that is what i have on top of my coop well dog run.. and let you know my hand made Gheato Arse coop has kept the coon out really well.. and yes putting wire out on the ground around the outside of my run has kept the coon out as well i havent put gravel over it but i have about 1-1.5 ft of wire out on the ground and its all posted down so its unable to be lifted and the nasty coon that comes to my house everynight hasnt figured out how to get into my coop yet
I still need to do that to the expansion on my coop where I have my baby chicks. I have a bothersome skunk that keeps trying to get into the "yard" and I will be heartbroken if he figures out that I don't have wire around the bottom of the "playpen".
