I'm all for that. I've been getting my feed at the Firth Mill. It's only $26 for 100lb bag. That's a good price, but its mash instead of crumbles.

Yes, that's where I get mine also. Although I just called Jack Thomas in Idaho Falls and their mash is about the same price without the drive.....:]

Is anyone going to show at the fall show in Caldwell? I would think that it could be fun, but I don't know how to show a chicken or duck.

I've been watching YouTube trying to get the low down. I guess I'm a wuss...It would be great to have a mentor!

The one in the beginning of the November, I think it is? I'm gonna go poke around, at least! If you want to show I think you need to register by the end of this month for it, but don't remember the exact date.

says you have until Oct 21st if I am reading it correctly. includes junior showmanship. I am planning on attending as a spectator I know the auction wasn't anything fabulous, but we were told that the breeders "dump their junk" there. should see some good quality stuff at the show.

Does anyone want a free 10 week old Silkie roo? Not sure of the color yet, maybe Porcelain,maybe Partridge. He is ten weeks old. He has the slow feather gene as you can tell but the end result is very satisfying. Oh ya he is already practicing his singing. He is bearded but it is coming in real slow. He is very nice and loves to be played with.

I am going to the show in Caldwell. It is really easy to show your poultry. I am no pro by any means but happy to answer questions.

A lot of the birds from the spring and fall auction are from other folks than the IBBA members. There have been some top quality birds there by some of the better breeders. For beginners wanting to test out the chicken thing or people wanting pets it's great not to have to pay the high dollars. I always bring a couple nice birds to donate. Some one ended up with a nice pair of chocolates and a kid that wanting to show ended up with with a bantam Partridge Wyandotte Rooster I bought from Jerry Foley ( I paid 70.00 for the cockerel, the kid got him for 3 bucks...Theres always deals at every auction just got to wade thru....

If you are looking for all nice birds, the auction to go to is the one at the show. They encourage only quality birds to be sold there.

Yes, entry's must be post marked by the 21st of august. It is a double show (State plus a district show = more points)so will attract more birds from out of state. I am the webmaster for the IBBA so read the stuff and ask questions as I am putting it up...
