Thank you for the help, I will let my dad know. I wish I knew where there was 18% pellets, they seem to make more of a mess with the crumbles.

Steve Reagans in Caldwell sells a Cache brand layer pellets that is 18%. I love it for the bantams as, the pellets are smaller than all the other brands. It's made in Utah... Here is the link that shows the ingredients http://www.cachefeeds.com/poultry-feeds/ Cache dies both game bird and Poultry feeds.
That is what we get - smaller size is nice since we have both bantams and standards. I don't care for the crumbles, my birds make a huge mess out of it..

It seems like wrapping up my coops in plastic for the winter always helps me switch gears from raising birds to my art/photography business. Of course, why not combine the two? Here is "Beeker" who will be modeling for some of my creations this season.

ok I was just wondering and I am going to investigate it further on this site.... What are Hock Feathers and why do they disqualify a chicken?
Hock feathers are called vulture hocks. Vulture hocks are feathers growing from the hock.

Vulture Hocks:

A well defined formation off stiff, straight and rather long feathers growing from the lower part of the thighs and projecting backward and downward, a disqualification in all Asiatics including their bantam counterparts; a standard requirement in d 'Uccle, Booted, and Sultans.

DQ in:
Brahmas, Cochins, Langshans and Silkies.
