12 week chick laying??

I have two hens who lay, and they are a year old. Today I went out and in the middle of their 2 eggs was another egg, the size of a baby quail egg. SO SMALL. I have 2 11 week old pullets and 1 12 week old. The 12 week old has redder waddles and has also been seen eating the oyster shell already. Is it possible or did one of my girls lay 2 eggs possibly?

What breed is it? That would be crazy early.

if the pullets are eating laying feed they can start laying eggs most likely the egg will not have a Yoke in it. and if you continue the laying feed there is a high possibility that you can ruin the egg production of the pullets. so be careful of what you are doing with your young pullets.

Buff Oprington, I posted in some other forums on the internet and people who have had pullets lay that young, had all been Buffs as well. I found it interesting because I hadn't told anyone what kind either.

They moved out of the house into the coop and run about 4 weeks ago, with my laying girls. They took to them within the day no aggression or fighting. They free range during the full days and are still getting their bag of chick start because I bought such a huge bag. But the feed any of them get is very little (well it is available 24/7 they just don't each much because they free range).
