Idaho?

The project pullets should lay fairly dark eggs comparable to the FBCM.

Yeah, I'm addicted to those bantam cochins so it's not easy keeping myself from hatching them. I just can't resist their feather footed cuteness! LOL

My birds are in my siggy.. Although the numbers tend to change fairly frequently, my chicken math is pretty messed up...

Oh and it is Chick days here in Utah.....this happens for the Pioneer holiday, I do not know if they get chicks in Idaho this time of year too......but they are everywhere so please wish for me to have the strength to stay of out CAL and IFA! I keep driving past and stopping the parking lot, but so far I have not gone in

All this talk of chicks again has me going crazy... I really am a sick chicken addicted person, and I told DH it's official, I want an incubator for Christmas=)

I'm almost done with chicks thank goodness. My garage brooder pens are finally getting cleared out. I do have two FREE first generation olive egger chicks that a broody hatched in the run. My blue split to mottled bantam cochin pullets have started to lay and it's a bit tempting to hatch some of their babies as daddy is a black mottled and very typey.....but I'm holding strong so far! My mille fleur/calico bantam cochin are laying too. I think I need to hide my incubators from myself. LOL

Oh dear oh dear, on the Utah thread they're talking about mille fleurs, here bantam cochins (blue at that, love those blue feathers), olive eggers... I may have to run out of the room screaming for self-control.... (But you don't live that far away, Michelle, now do you?? Just a quick little drive over and back with more chickens, free ones even!)

Haha, ditto, I love my little bantams, they are so cute and their feathers make them look like they just waddle around all over the place.. and you have so many different colors, I think it's official, I'll have to make room for a bantam cochin pen somewhere...

Twice in one day I'm gonna wish you weren't 9 hours away!

LOl, ditto on that one too, but at least from my place it's like 2 hrs?? That's like going to Lisa's!! Oh, and birdguy is usually pretty good about writing back.. maybe write him one more time, in case he lost track of your PM....

Off topic, but does anybody know what a fair price is for weaned dorper ewe lambs? I'm thinking about selling two of our spring lambs to help with some expenses that came up. Plus.....we have plenty of lambs. :)

Hey Pawtraitart, My Blue Orpingtons are so darn beautiful!! I am getting ready to butcher the extra cockerals and wow will that be hard. I am wondering if you or any one can tell me more about the five points that a cockeral is supposed to show on his comb... is that from tip to back or just the points. Anyone know what I mean?

Thanks all, Beth

It's not just about the points, but about the overall balance/shape/size of the comb as well. Maybe you could post some comb pictures in the orpington thread? I'm sure you'd get a lot of specific input, there. :)

I wonder if ksl.com has lambs?? They have a lot of listings of other stuff, might be a good reference..
