Idaho?

Big wind storm coming today! I've been busy getting my outdoor projects done so half the farm doesn't blow away. We'll see if I missed anything. LOL

Welcome!!! Tell us about your feathered friends=)

So Michelle, how did the wind storm go?? Did you lose anything??

Finally finished the 2nd pen at my mom's so I will move some more birds over there within the next week!! Woohoo!!

Welcome to the newbies!!

I am madly trying to get things crossed off my to do list before it snows!!! Which the forecast says 30% chance next Friday of snow... I would be happy if it waited another month!!!!

DW is gone till Monday so I am juggling all the mom duties for a few days plus my normal ones... should be lots of fun!!

Oh boy, with all those kiddos that should be a sight to see. "What does not kill you makes you stronger..." Good luck! You better get to crackin' ! lol

Hey Shawn, I was wondering if you have gotten any Delaware eggs yet? Mine is looking pretty close.

Hey Shawn!!!

So, have you gotten down to your goal of <40 birds?? I'm going to be very impressed if you did=) Good luck playing Mr Mom, my DH is out of town for the weekend, too, I hope we make it to church on Sunday, lol!

Lisa, I noticed today my Delawares are reddening up, exciting!! In fact, they look redder than the Leghorn EE from Cynthia, of course, they are older, but I was still hoping to get an egg from her sooner than later...I think I picked out a Leghorn EE pullet for you today... She's mostly white, with decent muffs/beard, peacomb and slate legs.... Again, those girls don't like to be held, but they do come right up to you when it's feeding time and they follow me around the yard if they think I have treats=)

Sounds fun! I would love to get one from you. I could swap you one of my Bonnie birds then you would have the extra you were looking for :D
My Delaware was checking out the nests pretty closely today! I had my Black Ameraucana start yesterday, then another Wheaten start today, woot!
My last babies should all start in the next few weeks, including all of mine from Michelle....those Marans mixes I got last are turning red, my oldest maran is red, my two younger Marans are pretty full size, I think 3 weeks or so behind the other one....then I have my Delaware, showgirl, and Polish (someday soon! They are 7 plus months old)!

I will be down to 37 or 38 next Saturday (that's even counting the 5 teenagers that as we all know, don't really count) plus the ducks and turkeys and guineas.. LOL

Shawn, I'm impressed, seriously, considering how full that barn was earlier, that's a feat!! You must have sent the cockerels in for processing...

Who's ready for the snow we may get this week??? I"m not really, well kind of, but not totally... will be at my mom's tomorrow and prob Tuesday patching stuff up so the birds are secure for the nasty weather...

Who here runs lights during the winter?? IF so, do you all winter, do you give them a break during Jan/Feb or so?? I used to run lights, but not all winter, mostly because I felt bad it was so dark in their little spot, at the time I didn't know it would affect their egg production, so I did get eggs during the winter, not as many, but a few... Thinking about running some just until Jan/Feb and then letting them have a break....
