Hello everyone! I had an idea wanted to see if anyone else has tried it or has any suggestions. have a sprinkler head that is located right in my chicken run, right now we have it capped so it doesnt go off. I just had a little faucet head attached to it so we can attach soaker hoses, etc, to it to go off when the sprinklers do. It has a dual head hose hookup, so i was thinking about using one of the hose hookups to attach to a hose and then a chicken waterer, hoping it would cut down on my "labor". I would have to cut a waterer or make one large enough.

Sure, it could work. My dh made one using a water hose for me. I'm not sure exactly how you would need to do it, but the theory works, if I am not mistaken, he used one of the newer type toilet floats for auto shut off. Mine is made of pvc, but is attached to a wall.
