Idea for dealing with political & armageddon threads

I just thought of that NiftyChicken...

how 'bout having a mod lock a thread that gets four complaints... rather than making it automated?

I can only imagine Nifty...I sure wish people were more tolerant in general...

I sure would love to see stats on who "reports" the most times for threads that are offensive to them....

Now, THAT would be interesting! Who's BYC's biggest tattletale?

I could see the slippery slope that would start with people closing down others' threads on spite....very silly idea....

If you guys even knew how many more threads would be locked / closed on that principle your head would spin.

Yeah, I could see that. However, maybe the threads should show which three tattletales got them closed. Removing the anonymity factor might reduce people's urge to whiiine to the mods.​

Other than duplicate threads, I've reported on threads twice. One was when 4 people were teaming up on one and being incredibly nasty and once when someone said something so patently offensive I just couldn't help myself.
