Idea for homemade brooder waterer (no mess!)

Following your lead, I purchased my nipples online and am ready to make the waterers for my new chicks. I have 25 babies coming, how many nipples do I need? I am looking around my house right now for a suitable container....

The thing I love about using water bottles is that I don't have to drill any extra holes. I just leave the cap off and they are SUPER easy to refill. I never have to remove it from the brooder at all. I often place it a little high so they can grow into it, I just place something under that will give 'em a leg up for a week. I use cardboard boxes for my brooders and have learned to place a linolium tile under the sand under the waterer cuz they tend to scratch a hole in the box going after wet sand.

Here is the waterer I amde for my brooder.

It is a 1 gallon ceramic water cooler I found for $1.00 at a thrift store. The nipple is screwed into the spout mechanism.
