Yes the mules. I didn’t realise that Muscovy cross meant infertility when we bought different breeds.

That's too bad...Sorry But Muscovy are not Ducks but another species that is invasive in the U.S. ..Cross with Ducks but create Infertile Mules..

Those are definitely not mallards, Khaki Campbell, pekin, saxony, welsh harlequin

One the plus side, a female mule will still be able to lay eggs, they just won't be hatchable. Males have excellent meat.

Been mulling over the idea of getting a Muscovy drake for my flock of mallard-breed hens. Might solve the eagle problem I've been having lately.

Just means you have built in birth control. Muscovy's are awesome Ducks.

Muscovies ARE ducks, they are just so far removed genetically from other species due to thousands of years of isolation that their offspring with other species are not able to reproduce.
